Scott Lambridis is a writer, designer, and lifelong science geek whose fiction probes the strange edges of perception, time, and consciousness.
He earned his degree in neurobiology from the University of Virginia, and that fascination with brain science continues to spark his creative work.
His stories—full of neurologically-plausible aberrations and absurdities—have appeared in Slice, Fence, Café Irreal, and elsewhere. He’s been a finalist for the Halifax Prize and Tobias Wolff Award, and his Pushcart-nominated story “Blind Sticks” was published in 2021. Scott holds an MFA from San Francisco State University, where he received the Miriam Ylvisaker Fellowship and multiple literary awards.
Beyond the page, Scott has explored many creative forms: touring with a progressive rock band, co-founding the indie press Omnibucket (known for its multimedia books), and co-hosting Action Fiction!, a Bay Area series where actors brought short stories to the stage. In 2024, he completed a 100-day challenge illustrating single-sentence stories, discovering a new voice as an offbeat cartoonist through his moon-faced character, SANA.
By day, Scott leads the design department at Blink, a user experience consulting firm in Seattle. Like Kafka, he observes the machinery of modern life through its digital products and the sprawling networks of workers and consumers they connect.
He was born in New York, moved west through San Francisco and Lyon (where he drafted much of St. Ulphia’s Dead while his daughter napped on a bench along the Saône), and spent the COVID years tending 400 olive trees and a menagerie in the Sierra foothills. Now he lives in Bellingham, WA with his wife Angie—a visual artist, chef, and permaculturalist—and their daughter.
For trivia enthusiasts: when Scott was fourteen, his best friend shot him in the face with a BB gun. Fifteen years later, a dentist discovered the BB still lodged in his nose. It’s visible on his x-ray—and yes, it’s still there.
Scott lives and works in Bellingham, Washington. He’s available to travel for speaking engagements throughout the United States and abroad.
